33 cl bottle from To Øl advent calendar poured into a snifter glass. Near black with a reddish tinge and a few tanned bubbles on top. Sweet aroma with hazelnuts, liquorice, vanilla, chocolate, molasses, and a complex barrel profile - rhum, bourbon and red wine. The taste is sweet. Full body. Sweet finish with lingering dark malts. Very nice - somewhat to the overly complex side.

* Great. Sweet, chocolate, strong. *
Opaque black. Quickly done, brown head. Chocolate, cocoa, nuts, spicy, alcohol (bourbon), very sweet, roasted malt. Sticky texture. Warm finish.

330mL bottle from Base Camp. Pours black with a minimal head. Lots of hazelnut, some roasted malt on the nose; not getting much barrel character. Flavour has dry hazelnuts, some vanilla and dark chocolate, a boozy barrel component. Full-bodied. Fairly dry and roasty for a pasty; nicely done.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has a lot of fresh, dusty, dry, roasted hazelnuts upfront, with the barrel blend further back. Flavour has tons of roasted hazelnuts, with a strange blend of rum, wine, and maybe bourbon. There’s also possibly some of the cocoa and vanilla discernible, but it’s really the hazelnuts that steal the show. Good albeit somewhat incoherent and trying to balance too many flavours.
