Cask at Square Sail, half-pint shared with Finn. Filmy layer leaving upper part lacing. Brownish body with a ruby shade. Restrained smell of mid-sweet caramel malts. Mixed taste of leafy hops and caramel. Hints of bittersweet malt and fruit to the finish. Average bitter version. (Lincoln 30.01.2020).

7/1/2020. Cask at the Crosse Keys, City of London. Pours clear golden amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of fruit, sweet malt, hops, boiled sweets and stewed veg. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Has a boiled sweet finish. As with most rugby themed beers it’s not great.

9th March 2018, cask pint as Banks and Taylor's Crooked Hooker in The Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Looked good, clean and clear amber body, full off-white blanket of foam on top. Malty brew with a decent hop undertone, nice balance with the overall flavour coming down on the side of the semi-sweet malts. Liked it.

Cask pint in the Skegness Wetherspoons pub on 14th Feb 2016. Amber/gold pour, white head. More malts than hops, more sweet than bitter, no citrus feel, fruity notes though. Decent, liked the fact there was no citrus flavours about!

Cask at the booking office. Nose is citrus, orange, burnt grass, pine. Palate is very bitter grass, almost smokey. Way too bitter, old cask maybe?

Tried at a JDW in Nuneaton. Pale Amber colour with a thick creamy white head. Aroma weak fruit, spice and a bit of smokey malt. Taste is peaty. Not a great one.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Bright amber with a tight white head; rather thin with a peated grainy taste; and a lingering smoky finish. Quite pleasant.
