Pretty hazy golden colcoured body with a 70 per cent opaque straw coloured body with a single centimetre tall off-white head that caps the beer just enough and stays there for a few minutes, at least. Aroma of oranges, rubbing alcohol, bitter dry grassiness, some more nuanced and pungent malt notes and a touch of sugars, but the oranges and especially rubbing alcohol is strongest. Medium-bodied; Strong dry and pungent grassy qualities hit at first with a lot of bitterness from the alpha acids of the hops really coming out here, along with a slight hit of fruits, noticeable more at the end, once you get past the bitterness and astringency. Aftertaste is deep and old-school with a decidedly West Coast slant, showing a lot of pungency and astringency with a big hop bite, a nice bunch of alcohol and just enough malt support - nice! Overall, a good (not great) IPA that shows Imperial Status through the dry, grassy and especially astringent hop notes, coupled with the noticeable alcohol here. Nice to try - local and from a new brewery to me! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from The Perfect Pour in Elkridge, Maryland on 25-October-2022 for US$4,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 06-November-2022.
