A pure old beer brewed using Styrian Goldings hops and optic malt. An explosion of flavours, a fragrant delicate hop aroma which leads to a bitter finish.

Cask @ Post Office Vaults. Cool and light palette with lemon and citrus elements. Underwhelming, inoffensive beer.

Holden’s November ’World Leaders Beer’, they have brewed a new beer each month in 2013 for this series: gravity poured at the Birmingham CAMRA Beer Festival on 30th Oct 2013. Golden and bright body with a white crown on the throne. No great leading aroma, some hop notes with a grainy undertone just about sums it up. The taste was also a bit of a let down: mini fruit feel with a drying semi-bitter hop finish, but not much of anything really: let’s say it has delicate and subtle flavours rather than robust or powerful attributes. An OK brew I suppose, but expected more from a ’World Leader’.

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is stale malt weak but zesty citrus fruit and hoppy notes. The flavour is medium bitter with a light bodied palate and a short bitter finish.
