Bottle @ Fonefan Summer Gathering. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, light whisky and wood. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Oily. 190817

75 cl bottle. Pours dark brown to black eith a small tanhead. Aroma is dark roasted malty. Dense dark malty. Roasted. Bitter and dry and dsrk malty finish. Roasted finish.

8 4 8 4 16 Bottle shared at Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering ’17. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of scotch, dark chocolate, caramel, oak, toffee and booze. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, coffee, hops and has an oily palate.

Tan rim, fully black beer. Bit perfumed, chocolate, green herbs aromas. Chocolate, black cardamom, chocolate petit beurre cookies; just a faint impression of spirit. Very well-bodied, alcoholheat, fully chewy. Very good, not exceptional maybe, but well worth searching for. 7/4/8/4/15

Thank you kraddel & tderoeck! Sampled draft @ VCBF 2017. Black, dark mocha only small rim on the sides, looks like the others of the currently released series. Nose is thick molasses, syrup, varnish alcohol, black chocolate, sugar, mocha, good old flat molasses boozy pancake syrup Black Albert here. Taste is boozy flat molasses sugar, stronger chocolate taste here than in the others thus a bit better for me. Flat syrup molasses. Nice, top 2 of the new series. Good but feels closer to modern Black Albert than the old series, I assume that age took away the complexities. Nice but not the heights of yore. Pretty similar ones, hard to note the difference for me, maybe we should have tried really hard? Still good stuff take on its own, not for how much a bottle of this costs.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige to brown head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, some coconut, bit sweet, vanilla touch. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: very boozy, alcohol, cognac notes? Dark chocolate, bit vegetal, alcohol. Aftertaste: too sweet, bit cloying, sugary, caramel, mocha, dates, alcohol.
