Cherry and plum mead with vanilla, aged in a Widow Jane bourbon barrel for 11 months.
It genuinely reminds me of crème brûlée with fresh fruit, if you aged it in a bourbon barrel...
If you love fruit, caramel, vanilla and bourbon, this is definitely for you!
-------------------------- 2023 --------------------------
Barrel origin:
Widow Jane 10 y/o (11 months aging)
Honey varieties:
A complex honey bill containing honey from three different locations in Norway:
Two harvested mid-summer and one harvested late in the fall. The main share being quite caramel-forward in flavor.
Cherry variety:
Stevnsbær
Plum varieties:
Mallard and Opal
Maturation on Madagascan vanilla beans.

Bottle pour at Henry and Sally's. Pours clear ruby, nose is plum, vanilla, berries, taste is similar, juicy, some custard cream. 8/9/9/8/8 --- Beer merged from original tick of Bourbon BA Hidden Surface (2023) on 09 May 2025 at 20:28 - Score: 8.
