Cask @ Royal Oak. Pours dark brown, pale tan head. Aroma has indistinct sweet notes, sweet dark malt. Taste is a little odd, comes across as a ruby mild with sweet chemical remnants. Not particularly pleasant, couldnt finish

Cask at local Nicholson’s pub. Dandelion and burdock porter. Dark brown coloured pour with a creamy off white head. Aroma is semi sweet, liquorice, light roast. Flavour is composed of sweet malts, liquorice, light spices, bit of toast. Palate is medium bodied, little creamy. Meh.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - dark brown to black with a lovely fawn head. Light orange chinks. Nose - milk chocolate, gentle praline. Taste - toffee, milk chocolate, hazelnuts at the back. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry creamy finish. Overall - enjoyable.

Cask at the Haymarkett. Pours clear dark brown, red chinks, with a thick beige head. Aromas of burnt toffee, bitter herbal notes. Taste is light sweet. Guess I get the dandelion and burdock thing. Light sweet finish.

Half-pint, hand-pulled on 24th Feb 2015: this Dandelion and Burdock Porter is not retired. Ruby hue to the reddy brown body, on top a creamy head in colour and texture. Sweetish feel to the brew with a definite flavour of that old English favourite pop: Dandelion and Burdock. Good body depth and overall a pleasant and easy drinking brew.
