Label says Encore IPA & its red with a dude lighting a lighter for a band, nothing like the one pictured here. Says nothing about wheat on the label either,, just here in the site discriptor does it say that. No smell of wheat in this stuff. Smells like IPA. Looks somewhat like a hefe tho. Some initiial citrus bite in there. Definately IPA fer sure, no mistaken it. After each slug is this hoppy medicinal feel to it. Somewhat oily on the palate but not quite as much as a real IPA. Hey, there’s gunk on the bottom of the bottle, I guess that’s where the wheat comes in. Never appraoches IIPA territory but certainly IPA in form and finesse. Decent CO2 but could use more. Bitter finish. I guess I have had some wheat ales that come across nearly as bitter such as Southern Tier Hop Sun, Arcadia Whitsun & Dundee Summer Wheat.

labeled as "Encore IPA" in Winter land sampler pack. Pours a hazy orange with a small white head. A very nice sheet of lacing. Grapefruit hop aroma. zesty from the wheat with notes of baking soda. Flavor is BIG on cascade hops. Lighter body with high carbonation. Dry finish that does have bitterness but not real bad on my palate. The wheat helps knock down the bitterness. Well done!

bottle pours hazy orange with a tall white head. Aroma is strong citrus and pine hop notes with thin floral notes. Flavor is pleasant, well balanced toast and nutty malts with plenty of pine. Only faint wheat in the finish. I like it.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, light floral hops over grainy malts, rye notes. In mouth, a grainy malt with nice herbaceous hops, quite good and wheaty. On tap at VT Brewers Fest, July 17 2010.

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white 3 finger head. Aromas of wheat and mown hay. Phosgene? Nah. Medium body with mildish carbonation. Flavor is spice and a hint of banana. Or a light, light bubble gum. Bitter finish. Refreshing stuff.

I had this one on draft when it first came out and was underwhelmed. Now I tried the "Encore" bottled version and found it to be far superior - so the following rating is for the better version. This beer poured a very cloudy apricot color with a large foamy yellow-white head. that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was bitter grapefruit, pine and cactus. The flavor was sweetish and tangy with strong notes of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon and cactus. There was a light undertone of caramel and bread. The finish was medium length fruity hops. Fairly thick body. Well done.

12 ounce bottle from the Spring sampler. Pours a lightly hazy lemon yellow color with a medium creamy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bready, nutty malts with citrus and floral hops. Taste is bitter citrus hops up front with caramel, citrus and bready notes. Medium bodied. Kinda boring but not bad.
