Monk’s Bar is a cask-only pale ale brewed in collaboration with the legendary Northern Monk, paying homage to one of York’s most iconic medieval gateways — Monk Bar.
Bright, zesty citrus notes lead the charge, backed by a subtle herbal bitterness and a gentle wave of tropical fruit flavours. Brewed to be beautifully balanced and endlessly drinkable, Monk’s Bar celebrates craftsmanship, tradition, and Northern flavour. Show Less

I'm not a person to put cheese with beer, but some do, and the sophisticated folk at the Exchange Ale House in Bradford have gone French this week for their selection. The beer selection is easy, tropical fruit in both aroma and taste with a sweetness attached. Hazy golden.

Handpull cask at the Pharmacie Arms, Syston. Light underripe peach yellow, hazy with a massive off-white head. And it does have a light stone fruit aroma, some papaya, vanilla malt. Sweet taste, getting loads of cantaloupe and some banana. Little bit of bitterness emerging in the latter half of rhe sip. Good body, soft carbonation. Very nice. A lot more subtle than I expected but it handles well.

Cheeky half on the way in to town. Decent, hoppy pale.
