Bottle. 2009 or 2010 vintage I think, best before March 2013. It's almost clear in the glass, deep chestnut to brown in color, with a small, dense dark beige head. Lightly oxidized aroma with caramel, dark dried fruit, bread crust hints and a good dash of chocolate. It's full-bodied and soft on the palate, with a very light sourness. Some oxidation in the flavor too, lightly woody, with dark chocolate, bread, caramel and dark dried fruit. Some generic fruityness, with a light spiced touch towards the finish. Quite decent this one, even though it's way past BB date. 230331

3rd June 2017: mini tasting session with my wife. 33cl bottle bought some time ago in De Bierboom, Brugge and stored at home, BBD was in fact 3rd June 2017, so we tasted it on it’s BBD. Reddy brown body with a smooth beige topping, looked good in my Westmalle chalice (what doesn’t?). Caramel and spicy notes in the aroma, a yeasty ester or two as well. Taste followed the same lines, semi-sweet caramel flavours with a spicy and yeasty presence, a malt forward brew with a slight bittering finish.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Sweet nose of caramel. Some banana. Bit metallic. Light bitter. Ok, bit boring.
