Clear copper color with thin off white head. Very nice aroma of hops and malts. Taste is round grapefruit hop flavor along with some sharper grapefruit hop bitterness plus a sweet malt backbone. It tastes and smells a bit more like an IPA. It is darn hoppy for an amber type ale, which is fine with me. Overall an excellent balance of hops and malts. I will certainly try it again.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, dark amber with a small, off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Quite dry and hoppy throughout with an underlying caramelish sweetness. 160106

I agree with Pigfoot that this is a pale ale. Vegetable aroma. Red, with a lasting head. Bread and very dry, bitter hops. Almost too dry really.

This brew is true to its billing β€” heavy on the malts with an underlayer of bittering hops. It poured a dark, cloudy amber with thin head. The aroma is dominated by malts and yeast with a slight hint of pine. The combination of caramel and grapefruit flavor left an anise aftertaste with a lingering bitterness. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Dark but radiant amber color with a medium thick light beige head and thick lacing. Aroma of hops, ash and malt. Medium-bodied and quite bitter all around. Lots of hops but with a nice caramel malt underbelly. The finish is bitter at first but sweetens. One of the better Amber ales I have had in awhile.

This company’s beers have only recently begun showing up with any regularity in my area. Picked this one up in their sample case. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlights and a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, nutty and has a crisp hop element. The flavor is bitter and sour with some nut underneath and crisp hops. An ok red ale but nothing special.

Deep amber with impressive lacework - hoppy aroma with touches of grain - very hoppy for an amber, but sufficiently malty, assuring that this beer lives up to the commercial description - long, sweet finish cut with a hint of bitterness, keeping it from getting sticky or cloying - nice stuff.

Fairly clear deep copper-red body, medium off-white head. Cerealy aroma with hints of caramel and piney hops. Grainy body is on the dry side, and piney, bitter hops are especially prevalent in the finish. The balance is mostly in the favor of the Cascades. Medium-bodied and decent.
