Notes from early 90s. From tap (ABT Beer of the Month if memory serves me well. Dark amber (or light brown) color. Aroma’s: caramel malts/dark malts, sweet. Flavor: moderate sweet. Medium bodied. No new flavors in the finish. OK, but nothing special.

Along with the other Sezoens, one of very few top-fermented, authentic regional beers by Martens, not easy to find outside of its home town. Warm amber colour, delicate, subtle malt character, caramelly, with a certain complexity in the finish; also tasted as an old beer and I must say, ageing did it well, compared with the young version. Seems to have a certain Altbier influence, as the late Michael Jackson justly observed.

Bottle @ home. Clear copper / dark orange colored beer, small but vast off-white head. Smell malts, a little roasty, like a mix between a stout and a dark amber. Taste light coffee, malts, grains, yeast and some spices maybe? Suitable carbonation, medium body.

Bottle from Tbone, best until 1/07. Brown color. Blackcurrant, grape juice and sherry in the aroma. Sherry flavor with blackcurrant , grapes and cardboard. Has thinned. Plastic in the finish. I have to re-rate a fresh one.
