Barrel Aged Birthday Bestowed is a 13% ABV imperial stout with chocolate cake, chocolate, sprinkles and lactose that was aged for 12 months in Heaven Hill and Basil Hayden bourbon barrels. The barrel character balances the sweetness beautifully. Expect notes of bourbon, dark chocolate, toffee and plenty of oak.

Tasting at Ryan's, bottle
Black colour, no head. Strong aroma, chocolate cake, cacao, vanilla icing. Full bodied; sweet, but not syrupy; the chocolate and cacao flavour dominate, vanilla, a bit too much spirit. Good, excessive without the necessary balance.

Guess I forgot to finish the rating (just ticked it - July 11, 2024) - Poured from 375mL bottle. Very dark brown with no head. Chocolate, wood, decent, but I'm just okay about the Bestowed series.

375ml (thx, Chris S.!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: cloudy blonde with a white head. Aroma: a lot of nice chocolate, American oak. Taste: along the same line, nice body and level of sweetness. Overall: good one.

Dark brown. No head. I mean there's sort of a particulate scum on it. Very chocolatey aroma, hazelnut, sort of a chocolate ice cream note, really. There's a decent alcohol hit, and a lot of chocolate. The bourbon is medium, and again chocolatey. I like it. Not the most refined pastry stout, but good flavours.
