Fortunate Islands combines the bangin' hop aroma of an über-tropical IPA with the crisp, deeply quenching drinkability of a killer pale ale. We achieve this magical result by starting with a mild, nutty malt backbone, then dry-hopping the bejesus out of it with Citra and Amarillo hops. Restrained bitterness and vibrant notes of mango, tangerine, and passionfruit combine to form a sessionable crusher of mind-bending proportions. It tastes like wizards.

Tap. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is peach, passion fruit, apricots, grassy, a bit wheat. Taste is more of the same fruits, with a warming booze body despite its low ABV. Oily mouthfeel, dank finish. Very good!

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Medium golden, light haze, small but creamy cap of white head. Light, heady grain aroma. Taste too is big on the grains, very bready. A snap of hop bitterness at the end elevated this. One of the best wheat Alex I’ve had.

OnTap at Bier:Thirty Boise Halzy yellow light golden with a full white head. Soft wheat malts, rather clean and dry with a little more hop bite than I expected.

Pint can from Wine Warehouse. Pours slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is very nice: fruity and juicy orange and grapefruit, pine, wheat. Flavor is smooth juicy citrus, including orange (especially orange), grapefruit. Wheat notes and tropical fruit juices follow, then a bit of melon (but not bitter). Wow, this is good.

Pint can. Pours a relatively clear golden straw color with a large off-white head. Aroma is mild, citrus and wheat, lightly floral. Lots of citra hops, tastes sweet and modest crisp bitterness. Has all the elements of a refreshing wheat with a light body and nice hop notes. A little disapointed that it doesn’t actually taste like wizards, but I’ll let it pass.

16 oz can from jcos. Thanks bud! Pours anunclear golden-orange, frothy head. Spotty lacework. Citrus, grapefruit, a little wheat. Nice hop flavor on a clean wheat base. A really enjoyable, clean drinker.

473ml can. Minimally milky, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, fluffy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, orange, mandarine, a touch of passion fruit, mango and papaya, pale malty background with a touch of white bread crust. Taste is citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon and tangerine, slightly strange, "crumbly", dry husky basis.
