1 pint can at home courtesy of Saeglopur, big thanks. Canned 02/06/2019. amber hazy color, small off-white head. quite a few floaties. smells coconut, vanilla, marzipan, bit gimicky, but nice to very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes of coconut, marzipan, vanilla, nutty, some artificial almond aromas, some honey, some sweetness. finishes bit sweet with notes of almonds, honey and some artificial aromas. overall pretty nice, expected worse, a bit over the top, but drinkable.

Collaboration of Crooked Stave with Untitled Art, a strong blonde ale with lactose and flavoured with coconut, presented as a 'blonde stout' (I wonder when this joke will finally stop being funny...). Can from the Mitra shop in Lelystad. Initially thick and frothy, egg-white, densely mousy, lightly paper-lacing but slowly dissolving head on a clear, deep coppery-tinged amber-orange beer with dots of dead yeast floating around everywhere; turns all murky and brownish-tinged orange with sediment, with those yeast flakes still there and the head all but gone - not a particularly appetizing sight, to be frank, so point off for appearance. Distinct aroma of very strong and artificial coconut (as in coconut milk from a can or even coconut-scented bath foam), orange peel, almond, Malibu, 'macarons', hints of strawberry bubblegum, soggy peanuts, whisky, sweet tomato sauce (partially an effect of yeast autolysis too, I suspect), lightly toasted bread. Softly sweet onset, hints of apple peel, halfripe banana, strawberry and apricot, sourish undertone, medium carbonation gently tingling on the tongue; slick, creamy mouthfeel, clearly lactose-edged but not overly so, sweet and peanutty maltiness with a biscuity 'soil', drenched in heavy coconut aroma, but with a citric hop quality to it as well, providing late but balancing and quite lasting bitterness against the initial sweetness; some yeasty-fruity and spicy notes further adorn a warming, white rum-like alcoholic finish, with lingering malt biscuitiness, coconut flavour and a citrus peel-like hop bitter touch as well as something soapy. Arty-farty hipster beer which I never suspected to come from Crooked Stave (so I guess it is Untitled Art which is to blame) - but ignoring the ridiculous concept of 'blonde stout', this is a barleywine-ish American strong ale with a strong artificial sweet aroma, not unlike The Bruery's White Chocolate and the like. Interesting and certainly enjoyable for what it is, but for once only, as far as I'm concerned, and even then the whole can seems a bit much. To be strictly avoided by those who dislike coconut, too.

Sampled at Borefts Pre-Tasting 2019. Clear orangy color, small white head. Smell and taste is like a dessert. Or a milkshake. I don't even want to describe this further. Bleh. How is this a beer? Fuck this.

Can at the pre-Borefts tasting 2019, Zaandam. Poured a hazy medium amber colour with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy malt, lactose, coconut, vanilla. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, sweet, lactose vanilla palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Very sweet but not too sickly.
