A Blend of two distinct barleywines, the first was aged a year in Blantons bourbon barrels, then further aged for an additional 3 years in a rye ex-cognac barrel. The second was aged for 10 months in a Buffalo Trace barrel.

Apr 04, 2026 after midnight (9/4/9/4/17=4.3): Poured from 330mL bottle. Very dark brown with minimal light beige head. Nice bourbon and cognac barrel, boozy but blended nicely,
June 24, 2025 (9/4/9/4/17=4.3): Poured from the tap @ Threefold. Same rating, not sharing with Oakes this time.
May 29, 2025 (9/4/9/4/17=4.3): Poured from the tap @ Threefold w/Oakes. Dark chestnut brown with no head. Mild dark fruits, nice balanced barrel character. Just a touch of heat so smooth, but dangerous ABV level. Enjoyable.

On tap. Pours a very dark brown with very light head.
Aromas of chocolate nougat, graham cracker, vanilla, sweet bourbon and caramel malts. Flavors of treacle, charred wood, vanilla, maple syrup, and oily roasted malts. No hint of the ABV. Excellent.

Med brown, no head, big vanilla, woody aroma. On the palate, thick, quite low carbonation, oily, some alcohol and sticky amber sugars. Long finish, nice vanilla but surprisingly woody, tannic. I've been back for more, because quite frankly we don't get beer of this quality very often in Vancouver.

On tap at Threefold. Pours black with a thin white head. Nose is very deep; full of bready malts, crusts, dark sugars, and tons of charred bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich and complex, full of brown bread, crusts and burnt dark sugars, all wrapped in a charred bourbon barrel. Complex and well-calibrated, this is phenomenal.

On tap at Threefold, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma is remarkably complex, with big bourbon barrels, brown sugar, toffee, and vanillin. Flavour is no less exquisite, with huge bourbon barrel character, brown sugar, some vanillin, and toffee. Super elegant and rich bourbon character, with just enough booze. Remarkable—one of the best things to come out of the Vancouver scene in years.
