Cast into the clutches of eternal damnation. And crucified by all the noise. It’s dark lager. You need to have it but you don’t know it yet. You’re infested with deceit. Someone told you that all black beer is heavy. Well that’s just stupid. Oh we’re as heavy as the chains of Hell. But this beer ain’t. Open your heart to evil. Sip on the depths of our black souls.

Roast and some coffee. Black pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish. Well balanced, with nice crisp bitter end.

Draught @ Albion. Reddish dark brown with creamy beige head, sweetish roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt taste, thin, a bit watery body, medium finish. Easy to drink, and smooth.

Draught at Owl Farm, Brooklyn: pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is maltiness, slight roast. Taste is slightly sweet, light bitterness, earthy and a bit nutty. Pretty solid.

Solid dunkel from Burial, offering up hearty notes of chocolate and toffee with hints of date and plum. Never grows sweet, though, instead developing a nutty undertone on the back end and a mild bitterness on the finish. Texture's soft and medium-bodied (a little more carbonation might be nice), and the nose brings cocoa and caramel apple. Tasty pint.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a dark brown to black with a finger of quickly dissipating off-white head. Dark roasted malt aromas with coffee, baker's chocolate and faint tobacco. Easy drinking and light on the palate. Medium carbonation...cacao nib and a faint smoked edge. Lingering dark malt. Fairly straight forward but nice.
