Just gotta go ahead and get it out of the way: this pint is an ass-ugly beer. Pours peach-amber with a brief fizzy head and no lacing whatsoever. Ghastly. Nose offers up grain and hints of caramel. Starts sweet, with veins of clove, vanilla, and forest honey, with traces of corn and anise followed by the slightest bump of floral hop bitterness. Never quite grows cloy, but this might be because I'm pushing the glass away before it warms. Needs to be less American, more German. Great can, bad contents.

Draft at Pour Taproom in Charlotte. Clear golden color white head. Light aroma. Taste is rich malty and fruity. Pretty decent.
