Not every explosion happens on impact. During the Cold War and nuclear testing era, delayed detonators were used when precision mattered more than immediacy, allowing a charge to settle, pressure to build, and conditions to align before release. Timing wasn’t a flaw; it was the point.

Delayed Detonator follows that same philosophy. This non–barrel-aged doppelbock is layered with deep malt character, providing rich bread crust, caramelized sugar, and subtle toffee, designed to unfold slowly rather than hit all at once. Smooth, deceptively drinkable, and quietly powerful, it waits patiently before reminding you it clocks in at a full 9%.

No flash. No rush. Just a steady build to a calculated boom. Because sometimes the most dangerous detonations are the ones you don’t see coming.

Sept '23 notes. Clear, dark ruby russet, heavy & flat sheen. Toffee, medium roast, burnt raisin nose. Taste is caramel, mellow roast, slight veg bitterness, pretzel, hidden acid. Stiff, sort of sweet strong ale maybe brew. Kinda okay.
