750ml from their summer bottle club. Might have grabbed two had I had more than a few days to look at the list before it shipped. Two weeks in the fridge. Mojito glass at home. Crystal clear, active, bright yellow gold. Quick soda fizz. Oily, bitter orange & sweet onion combo on the nose. Boozy sparkling wine, veggie, strong rose note. Strangely long & foreign floral taste. I expected more straight fruit. Bittersweet leaning sweet. It's extra rose-y, coarse apple skin, lemon, mixed-in bitter clay & Schweppes dry grape on the tail. Moderately high acid, faint spikes of tartness, really boozy, cocktail bitters, strong veggie bitterness that could be taken as a compliment. That floral mask just doesn't go away. Extra crispy but no mention of pet-nat on the bottle. Cork & cage with them usually means some sort of traditional treatment. I bet they sat on this for a while & it didn't get better, so fuck it. A lot of sloppy strong flavors. Surprised they didn't aim for 11%, the apple plus the grape sugar is good for it. Still fun & good enough to polish off.
