An explosive tribute to the glory of hops! Nuclear Whim is built on a base of fluffy Maine-malted oats, then absolutely smothered with some of the most exciting hops currently available. Saturated flavors of stone fruit, citrus sorbet, and juicy melon. Dense, drippy, and delicious.

Can from Air Force Hops (thanks, Chris!) poured into taster glass as part of blind taste test. Appearance is cloudy yellow/light brown with no discernible sparkle, thin cap of white, foamy head with fair retention. Aroma is fruit with malty sweetness. Taste is mildly fruity (vague citrus) with hint of light smoke. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, grainy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, nondescript/vague flavor, a bit different but doesn't quite excel. OK.

Aroma has bolder tropical fruit, citrus peel, and yeast. Flavor has toms of citrus, lasting tropical fruit and a low herbal bitterness. Has a great amount of juicy character. Pretty crushable IMO.

Tap. North Bar, Leeds. Murky, orange gold. Film of white. Nose has fusty citrus. Some sappy pine. Sweet grain. Candied peel. Taste is sweet and fruity. Medium body. Fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Pretty understated, but a quality brew.

Mango and green onion. Nice well rounded beer with lots of fresh fruit. Pours orange without much head. Hop burn finish. Tap at Churchkey

Pours a hazy, orange-yellow, with mid-size, fluffy white, lasting head. Aroma has some sour washcloth, tropical and citrus fruit, and pine/spruce hops. Flavor is dank, with citrus and tropical fruits predominating, along with a decent finishing hop bite. Soft mouthfeel. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Another winner.
