The monthly DIPA series is our neutral, hop ready canvas to play around with all things DIPA. The goal for the series is not only to bring you at least one DIPA per month, but also to allow us to push our base DIPA recipe in any number of directions with the goal of ultimately tweaking, refining and improving every DIPA in our lineup.

For May we combined 2 selected lots of Nelson with our selected citra and then modified our whirlpool a touch. We taste a medley of gooseberry, tropical fruit and citrus.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head that doesn't last. Smooth palate, a little soft, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft creamy sweet malts, taste a little ripe but no milky or caramel flavours creeping in. Mild pine into rich ripe citrus and stone fruits, ripe grape and a little lime. Light and semi dry finish. Quite flavoursome and certainly not unpleasant but, perhaps a bit stodgy and ripe in both the malt and hop aspects of this brew.

473ml can. Hazy, yellow-ish, bright golden colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity, slightly tropical fruity and minimally grassy, hoppy aroma, oaty and minimally wheaty malty background, notes of lemon, lemongrass, passion fruit, mango, a touch of limoncello. Taste is mildly bitter, citrusy fruity and slightly tropical fruity, minimally grassy hoppy, oaty and slightyl wheaty malty basis with some residual sweetness, notes of lemon, lemon peel, some lemongrasss, a touch of mango, passion fruit, mandarine, more subtle hints of melon, lychee, papaya, some citric tartness.
Creamy-watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well balanced, harmonious, seemingly light, immensely refreshing, nice oaty creaminess, obviously excellent water, fantastic "easiness" - great!
