The friendship between Half Acre and Maine Beer Company and the good times we've shared have become as legendary as the Sapping Mammoth featured in our first collaboration. Expanding on this partnership, we felt it was time for the story to continue with the Son of Sapping Mammoth. For this beer we brewed an IPA featuring Midwest-grown grain as a tribute to our Chicago friends. We hope you enjoy!

Bottle, thanks to Drake at the Final Push to Drake's 15K Tasting at my house. Shared with Drake and Somenumbers1234. Pours murky gold with a small off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, orange peel, grasses. Flavor is grasses, light citrus, paper, light floral notes, but very light. Decent flavor, light caramel finish.

16 ounce bottle. Slightly hazed honey gold pour. Small rocky white head. Fragrant citrus hop nose hints at lemon and tangerine. Moderate citrus hop and bready malt flavor. Subtle notes of grapefruit rind and orange peel. Pleasantly refreshing balance of malt and hops. Quite nice.

16 oz. draft at Tuckaway Tavern, Raymond, NH. Aroma and flavor are a blend of grapefruit, apricot, floral, and mild mild backbone. Mouthfeel is soft with a nice lingering/ mild bitterness. Very well constructed IPA. Wonderful balance.

Bottle. Citrus, grassy hop nose, herbal, with light pale malts. Simplish flavor, touch of resin, grassy hops, citrus. Body is a bit flat and that seems to hurt it. Nice enough but overshadowed on this day.
