Can't believe I've never rated this! Great pint that was perhaps served too cold, but a classic bitter nonetheless. Perfect refreshment after a day sailing on the Solent and before going on a complete bender.

Cask at The Butchers Arms, Oakerthorpe, Derbyshire. As I was born and bred in Staffordshire I’ve drunk an awful lot of this beer over the years. It seems thinner and less sharp now than I remember it to be. Nevertheless, this was a well kept pint; clear amber; a touch of sulphur; a fruity body, and a bitter finish.
