Near black with a creamy tan head and an espresso aroma. Smooth and creamy, sweet roasted malt, big coffee notes and a dry, mellow bitter finish.

Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Mid-brown, hint of purple. Translucent with a medium-sized buff head. There's coffee in the aroma, sure, but lots of plum, hedgerow, a smidge of chocolate. Sweet taste, again a good dollop of plum. Tongue-coating bitterness on the finish. Body is a bit thin but there's some soft carbonation that lifts it up. A little bit of a revelation is this.
