Le Mariage is a blend of Fife apples and cider apples grown in England and Scotland. Cider varieties used were Kingston Black from Kent and Oxfordshire, Tremletts Bitter, Tom Putt and Camelot grown near Forfar in Angus, and Tom Putt, Collogget Pippin and Dabinett from Monimail, Fife. Other cider varieties including Michelin came from Flemming’s own trees. The cider varieties bring dark, rich tannins married with strong clean acidity from the Fife apples serve slightly chilled and pair with red or white meat dishes, mushroom risotto or cheese board.

The intertwining of both the tannic body of the traditional cider apples and the zing and jangliness of the Fife apples creates a rounded pleasant cider with loads of character and bottled pet-nat with a gentle fizz. 7% abv

750ml bottle from Aeble, Anstruther. Touch of fizz on opening. It pours slightly hazy golden - amber with a few bubbles on top. The aroma is bright, zingy, zippy, tangy, sherbet, lemon-lime, sour apple, apple skin, leathery, must, gooseberry crumble, touch of custard, white grape skin and some funky barnyard,. The taste is crisp, bone dry, tart, puckering, leathery, tannic, lemon - lime, sherbet, crunchy tart apple, white wine vinegar, sherbet, some zingy citrus, grapefruit, salt & vinegar crisps, picked gherkin, oak and a nip of alcohol with a dry, puckering finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Quite a classy number. Lovely aroma, perhaps a touch too much vinegar aspects on the taste (although it's not dominant).

750ml bottle from Aeble. Hazed orange golden colour, white foam head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, pulpy, leather, funk. Taste is tart, tangy, appley, stone fruity, and funky, with mellow zesty citric acidity and some tannin. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tart & tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
