Appearance is dark brown, with a light brown clingy head. Aroma is cardamom, brown bread, spicy Christmas notes. Taste is brown bread, chocolate, nutmeg, cardamom, nutty malt, dark fruit hints, smooth mouthfeel, hop bitterness.

Can at home picked up from 73 Enid Street. A clear dark nut brown coloured pour with a lasting khaki head. Aroma is mild earthy roast, liquorice, treacle, raspberry jam, toasted bread, dried fruits. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, vanilla, raspberry ripple, earthy roast chalky, jammy berries. Palate is semi sweet, chalky, highish carbonation. Not bad. Maybe a little thin.

Keg at Cloudwater. Near opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, airy, a very mild dryness, good fine minerally carbonation. Mellow dark chocolate malts, mellow spices, fruits, something almond like. Finishes light. Not bad, wouldn't want a pint but it amuses.

On tap at the London taproom. Cardamom, cinnamon, raisin, orange zest, sweet almond notes. Medium body. Decent.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal tan head and good lacing. The aroma has roast malts and orange peel plus a hint of biscuits. In the mouth it is quite sweet but with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has roast malts, cake, chocolate and candy with some spices coming through later. A little bitterness in the finish. This is decent enough without being outstanding. {No marzipan so not a true stolen ]

Draft at Unit 9. Pours black with a tan head that fades slowly. Aroma is cinnamon, mace, nutmeg, marzipan, demerara sugar, marzipan. Taste is cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, a little coffee, marzipan, dark treacle notes. Decent pastry Stout.
