Originally released in 2015, Alter Ego represented a deviation from our hop profile, and long before we released it to the public, our little brewery was abuzz. For those of us that were there in the early days of the NEIPA boom, Mosaic was a big deal. A select few West Coast breweries had access to it when it was still called HBC 369, an intriguing variety touting notes of blueberry, mango, and even black pepper. When we started to experiment with it, we quickly realized the hype was real, and once blended with Amarillo, we quickly had a core-worthy beer. We’ve never lost the excitement of discovery; in fact, there are more experimental varieties than ever before. Our ability to select the best lots of our favorite hops across the world will always give us goosebumps.
