Bottle form Lidl Blackburn, Aberdeen. It pours clear deep brown with a lasting white head. The aroma is earthy, toasty malts, cacao nibs, malt loaf, sticky, molasses, toasted fruit cake, wood, ryvita and some nuttiness. The taste is firmly dry, bitter - sweet, coffee grounds, cacao nibs, malt loaf, brown bread, ryvita, earthy, leather, toasted nut and a touch of meatiness with a drying, toasty finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Decent malt driven ale. Lacks a bit of wow perhaps, but it's robust.

Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Week candis notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. oily palate.

Bottle from Broughton’s village shop. Clear ruby/brown body with a thin beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of fruit pudding and berries. Flavour of toffee, earth and berries. Thin to medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Light fizz. Rich and fruity. This is very nice, and more complex than the 5.2% ABV suggests.

Kopparbrunfärgad klar vätska med rejält och gräddigt skumlock. Lätt karamellig, lätt sädig och mörkt bröd i aromen. Medelfyllig maltkropp med mycket smak. Balanserad beska utan utsvängningar. Lätt värmande och fyllig munkänsla.

Flaska från SB. Klar mahognyfärgad vätska med lågt skum. Rejäl kropp med rostade nötter, sött fruktbröd, kryddiga söta röda äpplen, mörk karamell. Söt smakbild men en kryddig beska balanserar bra. Mycket smak för sin 5,2 abv. Maltprofilen imponerar. Välbryggd och mycket god
