A traditional & toasty autumnal lager beer.

Mashed with a biscuit-y blend of local barley malts from Epiphany Craft Malt House of Durham, North Carolina. Delicately hopped for a decidedly balanced profile. Fermented cool with our preferred house lager strain. Conditioned cold for an extensive period of time until crisp and crushable. Perhaps no better style to pair with the changing of the seasons, this toasty lager is our take on a tried and true classic.

17 oz. can from Total Wine in Greenville, SC. Thanks Kathy! Pours a mostly clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Very little lacing. Pale malt aroma. Very bready pale malt flavor with a smooth and clean finish. Very repeatable. Despite the name, this is a Festbier, not a Marzen. No caramel notes. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Low bitterness. Good beer.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear brassy gold with a moderate white head. Aroma is toasty/bready? Med body. Just a bit malty sweet. Toasty/bready with some hop that seems like grass/spice. Nice drink.

16oz can from Tavour, dark golden pour, clear, small off-white head fades quickly. Aroma is malty, leather, caramel, sweet. Taste puts the caramel malts front and center, sweet, slightly sticky

Pounder from Appalachian. 08/09/23, my fault for letting it sit in the fridge for a couple months. Pint glass @home. Clear, light copper, syrupy lux, lingering froth. Banana & plain Cheerios, dried fruit nose. Phenolic, Honey Nut, extra toasty crust, weak black pepper, cream, menthol, veggy astringent finish. Smooth more so than crispy, pushy carb, leaning dry, a touch too heavy. Good to good+.
