AROMA: medium overall sweet character with prominent estery notes (candied pear). faint roasty malt background. APPEARANCE: dark amber color and translucent. medium-low light brown head with average retention. slight lace formation. TASTE: initial sweet malt with a caramel character. medium-high estery fruitiness (candied pear). medium bitterness with a dry and roasty-burnt finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium body with medium carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a tropical stout with formulation (and fermentation) problems, rendering it unbalanced between the esters and malt. the finish is overly roasted.
