A silky and robust Baltic porter reminiscent of raisin, burnt caramel, roasted coffee and molasses. Very malty and somewhat sweet, it finishes with a dry and balanced bitter taste. The aroma is molasses and malt. Like a moderately hopped bock, with chocolate and coffee notes. This brew is bottom fermented and well rounded, with its potency hidden in its easy-drinking quality. Rummy, raisin and licorice notes similar to an old ale reside in the profile. The character also has hints of chocolate and coffee, and at times, a roasted background.

330ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Rustic deep dark body, one-finger thick, fawn-coloured head, clingy lacing. Good looking the glass. Promising smell of earthy malts and dark fruits. Malt syrup flavours joined by dark fruits with molasses beneath. Roasted, mid-dry malty ending. Warming, sweet alcohol hints. Good sipper on a Friday eve.(Tromsø 22.02.2019).

Can, 0.33l. Clear deep ruby, almost black pour. One finger soapy beige head, short lasting. Minimal lacing on the glass. Roasty nose, notes of caramel and coffee, slight coal. Medium to full body, lively carbonation. Pleasantly prickly on the tongue. Thick and oily texture. Quite sweet taste initially, develops into roasty bitter afterwards. Malty aroma, strong caramel and toffee, roasted malt, coffee beans. Sugar and molasses, sweet and syrupy. Dried fruits. Notes of wood, a bit ashy. Liquory, strong alcohol presence. Drying mouthfeel, lingering burn on the tongue. Long lasting finish, dry, boozy and bitter with interesting fruity aftertaste. Very good.

Taste is slightly sweet mineraly, dark sugar, dark malts, weeds, bark, minerals, sour coffee, soil, harsh grass, dusty toast, alcohol. Can shared in London - cheers to Dan. Pours clear copper-brown with a small, creqmybtan head. Quite sweet, lots of toffee, brown bread, low bitterness. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. A little sticky sweet in the finish, nips of caramel, booze, lightly toasted brown bread. Not bad.
