Neocallitropsis. Nature lovers immediately think of the tree endemic to New Caledonia. Beer enthusiasts, however, immediately think of the craft brewery located in Ducos. This somewhat convoluted name wasn't chosen at random. The idea for the craft brewery was born in the guesthouse of the same name.

Renan Guillou, the manager, started out as a simple homebrewer before deciding to completely change his life in 2017 and opened his own company. He began by importing craft beers to the territory before embarking on the adventure himself. "We figured we needed to take things to the next level, from 300 liters to 1,000 liters, with specialized bottling equipment," he explains. They moved to Ducos in 2020. Today, Neocallitropsis has a permanent range of six beers and has been offering limited-edition beers for the past year. The quest of these discerning palates? Their own taste preferences. “We don’t necessarily make what pleases everyone.”
