12 oz. bottle, smallish stable head, murky orange colour with some floaties, aroma of citrus and white fruits, flavour of citrus with a nice medium strong bitterness. Nice APA but a bit one dimensional.

Re-rate 5/16/12: Bottle. Beer of the month club (again...) Slightly hazy deep golden with medium white head. Aroma has decent citric and slightly floral hops. Flavor starts with some malt, slightly sweetish and caramelly, and continues bitter with floral and grapefruity hops. Medium-bodied. Pretty nice. 6/3/7/3/14=3.3

12 oz bottle sent to me by Suttree. 1361 printed on the label. Pour is a hazed orange copper with a nice 1 1/2 inch light tan head. Head falls with patchy lacing. Random carb bubbles float to the surface, nice looking beer. Aroma is sweet caramel biscuit malt, along with orange fruit and a ever so faint and mild pepper spice yeastiness. As this warms, the pepper is really more of an earthiness. Taste is the malt up front, nice and full grain, along with the caramel sweetness, moving towards a bit of resin citrus orange and pine hops, though still more balanced towards the malt. Nice balance, clean. The finish reintroduces the earthiness, mineral. Palate is medium bodied, aftertaste lingers, though really no alcohol presence despite the elevated ABV. Nice one, thanks Phil.

A deep dark brown IPA with a very thin moka head. In aroma, nutty chocolate, lightly hopped, vinous notes. In mouth, an interesting bitter chocolate, roasted coffee, musky and nutty, nice. Cask. On tap at Brewvival, Feb. 26 2011.

Tap at 16 Taps in Wilmington. Clear golden color, small white head. Aroma of peach jelly. Tastes like a lager with peach juice and sugar added. Lagers and fruit generally don’t mix.

From the beer of the month club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a medium sized foamy orange-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was moderately sweet caramel, light molasses and faint notes of pineapple and pine. The flavor was sweet and syrupy with moderate caramel, pine, pineapple and bread. A bit harsh in the hoppiness. The finish was long, sweet and piney. Thick and syrupy body. Interesting.

Pour is a copper with a small white head. Aroma is some caramel malt and a fruityness. Flavor is mild hops with mild malts. Nothing really stands out. People who are not really craft beer nerds would probably like this but I gotta nerd out and say there is not much to this one and its pretty weak.

From the beer of the month club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered forever and produced copious lacing. The aroma was sweet and bready with a light vague fruity hop presence. The flavor was bitter, tangy and somewhat sweet with light caramel and bread and light grapefruit, grass and pine. The finish was long, bitter, tangy and hoppy though a bit off. Fairly full bodied. Ok.

Pour is a murky brown with a small white head. Aroma is earthy malts with some herbal tea. Flavor is some Belgian yeast and caramel malts but where’s the hops? For being a "Belgian pale ale" the Belgian things are minimal and the pale ale aspects are no where to be found. Got old real fast

12 ounce bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, downtown, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy, almost muddy looking dark brown color. Thin fizzy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, toffee, clove and a faint roastiness. The taste is lightly roasted malts, some toastiness, caramel, herbs, green banana, faint spicy notes. Medium bodied. Odd beast.
