With its roots as a small brewpub on Morgan Square, Rockers Brewing Co. has evolved and expanded since its opening in 1997. From moving to locations with bigger capacities to the development of new and unique handcrafted brews, Rockers has established itself as an integral part of the Spartanburg community. For over 25 years, Rockers has watched this town grow and with it the local craft beer scene.

Pours deep cloudy amber into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to hug rim leaving spot lacing. Orange citrus and dark caramel aromas. dry dusty banana upfront turning quickly sticky before a lasting bitter orange pith and pumpernickel finish.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours really dark amber with a foamy tan head. Rich dark malt aroma with some yeast/spice hints. Med body;mild carb. Flavor is very spicey - hot bits. It’s smooth brown/roast malt, and the sugar is detectable, but it drinks pretty Belgian. Between a little hop and the spice, it seems nicely balanced. Good beer.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish brown with brown head. Nose of Belgian yeast, pale malts and spice. Taste of pale malts and something odd. Cinnamon?

Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA, on 8/30/10. Pours a clear amber color with a thin frothy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Faint aroma of earthy, herbal hops with a bit of caramel. The taste is earthy hops, nutty notes and toffee. Lingering bitterness. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy brown color, still a bit translucent. Aroma is malty, touch of coca, tinge of bitter coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, touch of toffee, nothing powerful.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar on 03/06/2010. Somewhat hazy brown body with a small frothy tan head. Roast and chocolate aroma with a good floral background. Big floral and resiny hop flavor with a chocolate and roast background. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

On tap at the Charleston Brewvival on 02/27/2010. Cloudy orange body with a large rocky off-white head. Slightly tart caramel aroma. Sweet caramel flavor. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Rich, dense copper coloured body with a super hazy orange glow and a thin tan head. Aroma of bright, strong, high alpha acid hops, a touch of citrus and a lot of pine - nice and cloying! Medium-bodied; Strong, super assertive and bittering hops that hit like metal and resin. Very nice and pungent bitterness at the finish with a touch of light herbal sweetness, but a lot of hops, a good balance of malt and way more hops - nice. Overall, a super potent and very hoppy finish with a good malt balance, slight amount of sweetness, but this one really is all about the hops. Probably as hoppy as you can get for a beer with this gravity - but it’s well enjoyed by me! I’d recommend this for people who REALLY like hops, but don’t necessarily like Imperial IPAs (like me). This one is lighter in alcohol than those, but still high. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Ye Olde Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland on 29-July-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 11-September-2010 (9 year anniversary).
