Basic golden ale, albeit a well-made one, with a mild pale malt sweetness coupled with minor floral-herbal hop notes and a lemongrass-n-bread finish. Pretty, but not ambitious in the slightest. Still drinkable, though.

Bottle from Craft Brewed shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown to black with a small bit of beige head. Lovely maple forward nose with some coffee and cacao nib. Smooth on the palate, but thin. Maple, coffee, cacao and vanilla throughout. Delicious.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Nathan! Pours a hazy gold with a full 2 fingers of foam that lingers. Big fruit-forward nose with apricot, peach and citrus aromas and some chaffed wheat notes as it warms. Smooth and pillowy texture on the palate. Super crushable. Fruit sweetness but some balancing bitterness on the finish. Very good.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep chestnut brown with a finger of beige head that dissipates. Toffee, milk chocolate and cacao nib on the nose. The toffee and scotch ale notes from Drafty Kilt still come through as it warms. As it warms up though, the cinnamon starts to creep into the nose. The palate is light for the abv and easy drinking. Very cinnamon forward with more cacao nib and mild milk chocolate notes. Lingering cinnamon and chocolate notes. As advertised and enjoyable. Don't really get any coffee to be honest though...maybe some cold brew like notes mid-palate.
Toffee and cacao nib aromas on the nose. Coffee and cinnamon come out on the palate. Scotch ale base is still the star. Balanced & great

Nice, caramel and toffee with hints of cocoa, date, and smoke, finished by oak and bourbon. Doesn’t really add anything to regular Drafty Kilt, but it’s a nice diversion, and the slight boozy warmth feels good on a chilly night. Okay, it’s not actually cold, but I’m watching Fargo, so...you know.

Bottle: Dark cola colour, with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate/caramel, hay, cinnamon. Taste is rich chocolate malt, caramel malt, cinnamon. Very malty.....quite good.

Takes far too much away from regular Drafty Kilt; cinnamon overwhelms the pint, creating a beer much closer to Sam Adams Winter Warmer than Monday Night's pretty good Scotch ale. Cocoa rounds out the maltiness--I'd never guess coffee was in this recipe if not for the can's label--but the finish is nothing but cinnamon, overwhelming the gentle caramel and mild smoky bitterness of the finish. Maybe I hate cinnamon. I don't know. What I now know is I like my Drafty Kilt and my cinnamon kept separate.
