Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours somewhat hazy gold with a large foamy white head. Very mixed aroma - has a bit of many things. Pear seems in it, as does citrus. Juicy. Not wholly dry. Caramel support. Pear, citrus, passion fruit (or maybe pineapple). Bitter enough - call it moderate. Very nice flavor - I call complex.

Bomber from Compton’s Market in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark copper with a fizzy tan head. Root beer aroma. Flavor is root beer, rather heavy on the sarsaparilla. Tastes good: a few who tried it that don’t usually like root beer soda liked it. It’s not dry, but sweet would be an overstatement. It’s somewhat bitter. Good version of the "style" or whatever this is.

Tap at the California Brewers Showcase Festival. Pours dark brown with no significant head. Aroma of coffee and treacle. Full boided. flavor is coffee, treacle, a hint of chocolate, a hint of brown sugar and some smooth burnt malt. Nice enough to get me back into the style!

355ml bottle from Ales By Mail Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of fruits, caramely malts, toffee and pine. Taste is crisp, malty and caramely with some hops, grass, citrus and pine. Finish is smooth, sweetish and hoppy with some caramely maltiness and grassy notes. Okay.

Bomber from Bottles N Bins in Monterey. Pours copper with a slight, transient head. Aroma is mildly roasty caramel and hints of floral and fruit. Med body or nearly. Flavor is lightly roasty malt with some floral/fruit hop. Fits the APA style, but personally I’d prefer more hop. Either I’m suffering an allergic reaction or there’s a bit of spice in the finish. Drinkable.

Bomber from Bottles N Bins in Monterey. Pours amber with a beige head. Arroma is rather toffee with a lot of fruity hop. Med body. Flavor is very malty. The hop barely balances it. Hop isn’t distinctly anything, maybe fruity and floral is appropriate.

Lightly hazy amber beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Smooth malts, fairly sweet, little milky lactose cream. Mild caramel. Touch of ripe fruits. Smooth dry finish. It’s wet and inoffensive but much too malt led for the style.

Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and has a mild minerally crispness. Thin malts, trace of grain, mildly sweet. Whisper of something citric. Light finish. It’s a total fresh air beer, nothing to offend because there really isn’t much here!
