Bottle marked 2007. Pours a cloudy ruby color with a medium head that diminishes to a paper thin foam. A lot of carbonation with this one. The aroma is very hoppy and fruity. good lacing with a very bitter taste and a hoppy finish. This was another great brew from sierra nevada.

Tap at Sunset Grill - clear golden pour, with a foamy, two-finger head - distinctive, pilsner-like, european noble hop aroma, with some grassiness and light honey - mild bitterness and herbal qualities up front - very clean and smooth - gradually, a light sweetness builds up, tasting of honey and some grain - the hop character fades, and the sweetness couples with a prominent, but clean maltiness for the finish - a refreshing and well-made kolsch.

First let me generally agree with jarspag’s sentiments. On to a 2006 bottle. The overwhelming aroma is floral hop. The color is copper, and the off-white head is not huge, but it laces a little. Full bodied, almost creamy. A little pine hop shows up along with the floral. There is a decent amount of malt. The finish tends toward dry, and there is bitter in the mouth, a bit. However, my nose remains full of hop aroma. It’s very good, but I wonder whether there is less pine hop then there used to be. Wish I’d saved some earlier bottles.

Bottle. Cherry, apple, and black pepper aroma. Reddish amber with small head. Sweet spicy cherry followed by an intense hops finish. Nice but the hops overwhelm other flavors.

Bottle. Poured a very dark brown color with medium tan head that diminished quickly. Has a very rich malty aroma. The taste is chocolate/coffee and well balanced flavor with a smooth finish.

Twist off the lid of this short stout bottle and you get a whiff of vanilla taffee or some sweet candy, er somthin. I also smell chocolate or caramell, I think. Pour is nice and opaque dark, as expected from any dark brew. Dark bitter back of throat taste that is common with charred grill meat. A true representation of a cheap dark beer. I’m surprised this is not under the imperial stout style. Somewhat like it’s porter brother but more oppressive. Black cold brazillian coffe impressions. NGood bit not as good as Bells Kalamazoo or Yards Love stout. Better than Dominion Oak Barrel in flavor.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige cereamy head. Grassy and hoppe aroma and flavour. Not very complex nor very interesting.

Bottle. Amber coloured with a decent, long-lasting white head. This was hoppy throughout - sappy and zingy citrus aroma followed by flavours of grapefruit with a touch of malt sweetness. Mouthfeel was slightly resinous. Very good, but slightly one-dimensional.

Not very good at all. Orange color. Light, bitter hop aroma. Weak hop flavor and a dry finish. They are attempting to appeal to a wide market I suspect, and sacrificing quality to do it.
