Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, metal, and odd fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and metal, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of nimbleprop. Clear amber with a small off-white head. Caramellish aroma, somewhat oxidized. Medium body, sweet caramel, light roast, again fairly oxidized with a metallic edge. Hardly any hops. 140212

Bottle: Poured a bright yellow color lager with a small foamy head with good retention and limited lacing. Aroma consists of light adjunct with some semi-sweet notes. Taste is not the most complex with light notes adjunct and a semis-sweet finish. Body is quite light with good carbonation. Another pale lager from a Kenyan brewery though this one might have a slight edge over most of the other ones.

Bottle: Poured a super light clear brown color porter with a small foamy head with limited retention. I must admit that I have never seen such clear and light porter in my life. Aroma of light dry malt notes with some light caramel notes is pretty weak. Taste is also a weak offering of light dry caramel malt. Body is light and thin with good carbonation. Probably a good offering for Kenya but quite light for North American standards.

12oz bottle pours a transparent, honey amber with a thin, lacing white head. Nose is very yeasty, very bready, crackers, malts, a little bit of apple. Very malty flavor, bready, grainy, like a wet slice of multi-grain bread, a little apple, some brown sugar. Tastes a bit like an Octoberfest in terms of the grain bill. Medium bodied, dry finish. Very malt forward, but it’s not a pilsener or pale lager, so it’s a nice change of pace in Nairobi.

12oz bottle pours a totally transparent, bright yellow gold with a frothy white head and plenty of visible, active carbonation. Nice aroma, floral, honey, very grassy, herbal, yeasty. Flavor is sweet, honey, malts, light grass, a little dried malt, lemon. Medium bodied, lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish. Pretty nice, I could drink a bunch of these.

12oz bottle looks nothing like a porter when it hits my glass. Pours a totally transparent, copper amber. Sure this wasn’t the Sierra amber misbottled? Thin, creamy, off white head. Aroma very much like a copper ale, crackers, biscuits, malts, a little brown bread, very yeasty. Flavor is sweet and malty, you can definitely taste and feel the crystal malts, some light bread, some brown sugar, a little metallic. Medium bodied, lightly slick finish. This is not a porter. Sorry. This is a copper ale. It’s drinkable and unoffensive, but don’t order one thinking you’ll get something dark and roasty.
