Description
Headquartered in Downingtown, PA, Victory Brewing Company is a craft brewery founded by Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet. In 1996, Victory opened its doors to serve full-flavored, innovative beers putting curiosity and inspiration from their travels and the world around them into each delicious, high quality beer. By 2014 Victory outgrew the original Downingtown brewery and opened a second brewery in Parkesburg, PA. Victory operates three taprooms; the Downingtown site, Victory at Magnolia in Kennett Square and Parkesburg featuring great views of the large-scale production facility and self-guided brewery tours.

Very clear golden and straw coloured body with a lightly hazy white and blonde glow, all with a two centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat for a long time. Aroma of very strong skunkiness when the beer is about five centimetres from the nose (or more), but when you get closer, the beautful yeast esters and complexity dominates with a soft sweetness, a good spicey quality and some floral notes. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich yeast flavours dominate without much support from malts and no real sweetness, but ample spices and dry biscuity elements give this some character and depth without being even slightly cloying or pungent. Aftertaste is spicey, yeastie and showing some nice floral elements, perhaps to make this seem a bit more elegant, but ths (especially without a large dose of sugars) seems quite low in alcohol and nowhere close to the six per cent range. Overall, a nice and dry herbal and spicey yeastie beer with a soft sweetness,Β but little in terms of complexity, depth or range. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman's in Leesburg, Virginia on 10-October-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-November-2020.Β

Ever so slightly hazy golden and straw coloured body with a thick three centimetre tall pure white head that is soapy and fades very quickly. Aroma of grass, candy, wheat, soft sugars and a dash of grain, but very mild in the nose. Ultra Light-bodied; Strong grassy, herbal and floral notes at first that don't equate to bitterness or real complexity, but does show as a mellow nuance and gives something else aside from just water. Aftertaste shows the grass, wheat, hay, floral and barely citrusey notes, but nothing too strong and there is no malt body at all, making this exteremely mellow and fairly subdued even for this style, which means in actuality its a step above water. Overall, sadly, just not enough of anything here to make this be worthwhile - it's boring, mundane and I very simplistic, and easily passable. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Giant Food in Alexandria (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 02-October-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 12-November-2020.

Pours hazy copper into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes leaving thin sheets. Summer pit fruit, berries and straw aromas. Medium bodied with mildly tart raspberries and crushed raspberry seeds front to back. Slick, lasting bread and straw finish. ABV well hidden.
