Bottle. Body is a medium brown with coppery highlights and a tan head that dies to a film of soapy bubbles after a few minutes. Aromas are mild and not that interesting. A little bit of toffee and some grassy/herbal hops are a bit intriguing as is an understated spicy edge, but it could benefit from a bit more assertiveness. Flavor is better than expected... an almost allspice direction on the spicing with some caramel/toffee coming through. I have to admit that I wasn’t sold on the description of this one... cinnamon, vanilla and simcoe just didn’t sound great, but it is a serve-able brown ale.

12 ounce bottle. Cloudy amber orange color. Small creamy beige head. Resiny pine hop aroma. Toasted caramel malt flavor is overpowered by the aggressive pine and citrus hops. If you’re a hop head, you will love this. Hops rght through to finish. Sweet malt backbone helps to balance this ale somewhat.

On tap at the bocktown monaca. Some sterile armoa comes across rather volatile. Was hoping for a gentlemanlike stout but what we have here is a mild impy stout. Probably about 6% I’d say. Yes has some regularlar old stout attributes but mostly a long bitter burnt finsh. Some hints of aged horse amnure in the background, just perhaps, could be my old flannel shirt.

On tap at the Vintage, nice place. Clean clear smell with a slight flowery perfume aroma. Looks like pale lager with a thin creamy head. Very little co2 on the tongue. Unique taste fer sure. Taste is that of the smell of elderberry flowers. no lie, been ther done that. Weird and unique. Not sure what to think of this kind of brew. Hint of dirt in there. Finish is a tad on the medicinal side.

12 ounce bottle. Opague black color topped by a medium-sized tan head. Aroma of spicy hops and roasted malt with hints of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. Intensely bitter roasted malt flavor upfront. Dryish hoppy flavor in midtaste. Hints of smoke, charcoal and tar. The finish is bitter and resiny with a long sticky aftertaste.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a black color with a large creamy dark brown head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was roasty coffee, Baker’s chocolate and anise. The flavor was dry, very roasty and very bitter - almost gritty with intense floral hops, bitter coffee and anise. Long dry bitter floral hops finish with lingering roasty malts and coffee. Moderately full bodied. Too dry and roasty for my taste.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear straw color with a medium white head. A nice rich grainy nose of Pils malt and some hay. The flavor is very crisp and clean with really rich flavors of Pils malt, honey and bread. Really nice.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a deep black color with a medium grey head. A smooth roast and coffee nose. The flavor is good: dark fruit, coffee, roast, some ash. Very clean. Nice.
