Backlog May 2014. Unclear amber body under a big, creamy and lacing off-white head. Aroma is chocolate malt and fruity hops. Taste is malt, chocolate, caramel, fruity hops and moderate bitterness. Fine body, average aftertaste.

August 2015: 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Black colour, dark brown in the highlights. Moderate beige head. Roasty dryish aroma, notes of coffee, hints of liquorice, cocoa and wood. Very dry and roasty flavour, quite bitter, probably more from the roasted barley than the Northern Brewer hops. Notes of coffee and wood, hints of English liquorice and smoke. April 2013: Shared 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%, Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate malty aroma with some "dusty" notes. Thin mouthfeel. Bland and uninteresting flavour, quite dry, but nearly void of hops.

Flaske 500ml spandert av Rune. Delt med ham og djoeye på Nerstranda 8 Nov 17. Svart. Kryper ut av flaska. Høyt lysebrunt skum som daler sakte. Aroma av sherry & bær. Smaken som aromaen med litt konfekt i tillegg. God ut fra styrken.

500ml bottle bought at Gulating Ølutsalg, Trondheim. Huge fawn-coloured head, near-black body, spotty lacing on the glass. Promising aroma of chocolate malts and earthy hops. Blended taste profile of prunes, raisin, and dark malts. Smooth roasted ending with dark fruits. Medium bodied. A well made, tasty porter. (Shared at a rating session with djoeye and Finn, Tromsø 08.11.2017).

Fra flaske på Mi2 Cardinal mai-17: nesten klar, gylden med tårnhøjt skum - her er det tydelig tegn på overkarbonering. Mye urtebitterhet. Tørr, nesten besk. Litt maltsødme, men overhode ikke nok til at det balanserer. Uspennende og usjarmerende. Og det viste seg at der lå uvanlig mye gjær i bunnen av flasken. Helhetsinntrykk: minner mest om et mislykket hjemmebrygg.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy light amber with big white head. Aroma of hay, grass, pears, some floral notes. Tastes bitter. Thin bodied, dry, almost astringent mouth feel and finish. Overcarbonated.

0.5l bottle. In the glass this is a cloudy looking deep peach orange colored one with a small quickly gone and islandy off-white head. The nose has a fair amount if yeast and chocolate wrapper. Old grass, fermented ripe fruits and traces if grains. Not horrible. It doesn't taste all that nice really. Really cardboard dry and old yeasty. I'll even go as far as call it not pleasant. How do they get this amount if yeast flavors in a beer? Slightly apricot sour aftertaste. Nope, sorry. I could have but I won't finish this - especially since I suspect that it won't get less yeasty further down the bottle... 15.06.2014
