Description
In 1356, with the decree of the Golden Bul by Emperor Charles IV, the cities in the Holy Roman Empire, including Wittichenau, were granted the right to brew beer. The beer was largely brewed in private, business and trading houses. In Wittichenau a common brewery was founded in 1435, this is considered as the year of foundation of the brewery. In 1940 the brewery was acquired by Eduard Glaab. It is the oldest private brewery in Saxony and has been run as a family business by the Glaabs for three generations now.

Bottle. Red dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is berries, roasted malt, hop, caramel. Flavour is sweet, berries, malt, hop, caramel, grain. Medium body. Ordinary/Boring beer.

Pours a light golden beer with a white head. The aroma is lemon, synthetic and sweetness. The flavor follows the nose.

Flasche aus einem Laden im Cottbusser Bahnhof. - Kupferrot, klar, sehr schwache Schaumbildung. - Geruch gut karamelsüß, im Hintergrund etwas muffiger Hopfen. - Antrunk dünn und viel zu karamelsüß. Eine schwach seifige, säuerliche Note und eine Andeutung von gerösteten Haselnüssen bilden kein ausreichendes Gegengewicht zur limonadigen Süße. Zu rezent, dünnes Mundgefühl. Im Abgang eine Andeutung von käsigem Hopfen. Selbst im Nachtrunk noch zu süß. - Fade Brühe, reine Zeitvergeudung.

Bottle 500ml. [ As St. Marienstern Klosterbräu Dunkel ].Clear medium to dark brown amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, caramel, bread, sweet malt, brown sugar. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, bread, sweet malt, light brown sugar. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140705]

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig fruchtig, Karamell. Geschmack leicht röstmalzig, Karamell, fruchtig.
