Description
In 1356, with the decree of the Golden Bul by Emperor Charles IV, the cities in the Holy Roman Empire, including Wittichenau, were granted the right to brew beer. The beer was largely brewed in private, business and trading houses. In Wittichenau a common brewery was founded in 1435, this is considered as the year of foundation of the brewery. In 1940 the brewery was acquired by Eduard Glaab. It is the oldest private brewery in Saxony and has been run as a family business by the Glaabs for three generations now.

Bottle. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma of subtle flowers, straw, biscuit. Taste is crisp straw.

Pours copper colour with a slight note of malt on the nose. Taste is crisp with a hint of chalk on the finish.

Copper color with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of grain, nuts, hay and grass. Thin and dryish grainy malt flavour with a roasted and biscuit note.

Milder, leicht süßer Antrunk. Dabei steigt die Süße und wird künstlich, die röstmalzigen Noten bleiben dahinter zurück. Trocken, zum Ende dumpf und künstlich. Ich kann gesüßten Portern nichts abgewinnen. 8/7/8/4/6/5
