Description
Kompania Piwowarska operates three breweries with rich heritage: Tyskie Browary Książęce (established in 1629), the Dojlidy Brewery in Bialystok (1768) and Lech Browary Wielkopolski in Poznan (1895). These breweries provide Polish people with their favourite beers, including Żubr, Tyskie, Lech, Dębowe, Redd’s and the Książęce specialty collection. Our proven beer recipes, natural ingredients, pristinely clean breweries and, above all, superbly skilled and experienced brewers, allow us to brew beers that are highly valued in Poland and abroad.

0.5l can. This is a clear deep golden, almost copper, one with a medium sized bubbly just off-white head. On the nose I get mild tones of malty caramel, some vegetal hints and mild zesty fruits. Subtle and not to exciting. The taste however is quite alright. It's average carbonated with a oily mouthfeel. Light ripe fruits with a developing caramel sweetness that grows stronger and stronger in the mouth. Ends with hints of alcohol in the finish and something light ashy-burned in the dusty aftertaste. Not extreme, but surprisingly decent. Was expecting much less. 03.08.2012

Bottle. Rose gold with a white head that lasts OK. Smells of red cordial in lager (what Australians would call a firetruck). Very sweet with the vague (raspberry? strawberry? cherry?) berry flavour pretty much overwhelming the beer. There’s no discernible nastiness at all from the beer and I guess it cuts the sweetness a tad at the finish. For what it is it’s not that bad.

Canned, 0.5l. Clear deep golden color, thick mid-sized white head and lively carbonation. Aroma of barley malt with corn and light caramel note. Smell of grassy hops and vanilla present, too. Taste starts sweet malty with hints of raisins and is followed by quite strong alcohol note. Mouthfeel is very warm, while finish is relatively short, but pleasantly bitter finish. Medium body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Surprisingly good to me...

Bottle. Gold with a white head that fades to the rim. Grainy aroma with light fruits and some cooked vegies. Sweet bland malt with some pears, dry roughly bitter finish with a little alcohol. Not too flash.
