The competition is going to be with Shiner Bock, at least here in Texas. Will Revolver be able to match up with that? Let us proceed and see what this one person’s opinion is. I bought a single 12 oz bottle at The Cellar in Odessa, TX, pouring it into my New Belgium globe glass. Great look, a dark chocolate red liquid completed by a tremendous tan-yellow foam. And I do mean foam. A sniff, hmm, curious. Sort of a sweetish hard candy and hay smell. A taste now, molasses, malt, whole wheat bread, moderately bitter. Quite fine, more taste experience than with Shiner’s actually. I anticipate sharing with friends in the future. 7/21/18

12 oz can bought in Austin, TX. Pours a cloudy gold color with a white head and decent retention. Minor lacing. Soft mouthfeel. Light honey and even lighter citrus flavors. Boozy finish at 7.0 ABV. Citrus flavor is more apparent as it warms.

Bottle. Slightly hazy yellow color, steady small white head. Aroma is grainy, cinnamon spicey, hints of orange zest. Medium-bodied. Sweetish malty, honeish, a bit spicey, evident orange zest. Drinkable although spicies are not making this better.

Bottled, from Total WIne & More, Plano North. Hazy golden, mid sized head. Citrusy nose with ripe fruit. Mid sweet with light-medium body and, clean, rounded mouthfeel. A peculiar fruity taste, whicjh I assume is the agave nectar ,some tangerine. Piney bitter finish. Quite interesting.

Recommended by a trusted friend or I doubt I would have tried this. Blood orange peel? It opens up and shows a rather unimpressive light yellow. The nose however is different, I pick up spice, maybe cinnamon and nutmeg. It gives a light foam which mostly goes away. The taste is a surprise. Orange, yes I get that. There is also a caramel sweetness but not too much. Very slight bitterness on the end. This is a good one or two bottle drink before going on to something else. But not bad at all. Strong abv for a wheatie.
