On tap at Kings Beer & Wine. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, dark malt, vanilla and chocolate. The same in the taste. The body was full and the finish long. A nice one.

32oz growler pours with a clear copper amber body that supports a nice looking tan head of foam that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up candy like dark fruity esters and a light sense of molasses. The taste delivers smooth sweet rich candy like plum, raisin and dates. It then picks up a spicy black strap molasses sort of black brewers licorice taste about midway. Overall the sweet candied fruity esters are a bit strong and bright. The ABV however is well hidden. Pretty nice sipper provided it's paired with a palate refreshing snack.

12 oz. can. For fluffy tan head that died slowly. Aroma has huge coffee with mild chocolate. The coffee infusion is quite good. However, the body isn’t as full and thick as most Impy Stouts. Positive character is the coffee has some bitterness, providing balance. Alcohol is nicely hidden. Almost top tier. Nice sipper

32oz crowler pours with a clear deep gold to copper body that supports a nice light tan head of foam that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up malts, a hit of fruity esters and then pine, pine sap and molasses. In the background is faint citrus like hoppiness. The taste delivers similar notes of pine, malts flowing into thin mint, grassiness and lime. Interesting. This is mostly bitter pine hop and it's pretty nice.

Canned, 355 ml. Pours dark orange with white head. Citrus and pine hoppiness, caramel malts, moderate sweetness and medium bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Can thanks to Chow. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong dark chocolate, wood, roast. Slick body, vanilla, cocoa, roast, nice sweetness,very good.

32oz growler pours with a dark copper to amber body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up malts, crystal malts, a dash of plum like esters as well as grassy and spicy hops. The taste delivers similar notes of sweet malts, biscuit and crystal malts and then a growing hop bitterness. The hops are moderately bitter with spicy and grassy notes and just a hint of pine. Into the finish a thin toffee and plum like fruity ester sweetness blends into the hoppiness. This is pretty nice and easy drinking for an 8% IIPA.

Roasty aroma, coffee, lingering between some good boutique coffee and cheap American drip brew, light vanilla; chocolate praline; cheaper in the beginning, awesome later. Lean but round body, very good dark caramel and chocolate flavor, moderately sweet, hints of vanilla and tobacco, nutty elements too; a lot going on here.

12 oz. can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of lovely coffee notes upfront, with a little vanilla and cocoa, and a robust roasted malt base. Flavour is rich and robust, with lots of vanilla and coffee upfront, followed by roasted malt and maybe a bit of lactose. Complex, wonderfully balanced and rich without being too aggressive. Excellent stuff.
