THE UNEXAMINED BEER IS NOT WORTH BREWING

There comes a time in every man’s life when he must ask himself – Should I continue working my steady and lucrative job or should I just quit and make beer? Well, for Norfolk-native Porter Hardy, the decision was a no-brainer. In 2012, the former home-brewer (and now former lawyer) traded his ties in for tap handles, and never looked back. With a stellar team around him, Porter entered un-fermented waters as one of the original craft breweries to set up shop in Hampton Roads.

$3.10 pint can, Wine Warehouse. Pours dark brown with a soft beige head. Aroma is chocolate powder, cinnamon, coffee. Flavor is cold coffee, cinnamon, chili peppers, chocolate. Definitely has a bit of heat in the throat. Coffee might be too much, and it's not really a good coffee flavor.

16 oz can shared by a friend, thanks Sam! Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of spice, roasty notes. Tastes of bitter slightly burnt ground coffee, dark chocolate. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Pretty good attempt. Would like a bit more body and less bitterness in the coffee notes.

Somewhere: pours amber with large off white head. Very light amber and bread aromas. Taste is pretty subdued. Lightly sweet. Easy drinking but very boring.

Can from jcos, thanks bud! The pour is unclear lighter orange with a rather large, foamy head. Aroma of spice and grains. Pepper and light fruity notes. Lively carbonation. Decent.

Can from jcos. Pale gold. White lace. Grass, spice, and a little lemon. Tingly, a little dry. Clean and crisp enough. Solid.

12 oz can from jcos. Pours a kinda rusty amber with a nice froth beige head. Sweet aroma and flavor of toffee, candied nuts, and bread. Slightly sticky. Eh, it's fine.

Can: Hazy, bubbly, yellow with a thick off-white head. Taste is pretty wheaty.....lemon, wheat malt, banana, clove. Fairly well-bodied and not bad in taste....at first....but I agree with Shrubber85.....a bit of black plastic Hefty bag nuances at the finish.
