On tap at Taste of Tops, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt and a touch of espresso. Flavour is pretty bland, with moderate roasted malt and some phenols. Robust but boozy and messy. It's okay.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that supports a nice dirty white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up noble hops and some malty notes. The taste delivers maltiness that has a thin roasted malt edge to it. The hops quickly jump forward with a blend of resiny pine hops, bitter floral hops and then some spicy hops that all create a nice bitter hop experience.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a crystal clear gold body that supports a near white head. The mild aroma offers up malts and a faint floral to spicy hoppiness. The taste delivers soft citrus hops that have a cotton candy sensation for a moment or two before it plows into spicy and floral hoppy nicely restrained bitterness. The malts create a pleasing balance to the fresh crisp hoppiness with a cracker like malt sensation. This is a Pilsner I could drink and drink as it is peppy, crisp, fresh and refreshingly hoppy. One of the best Pilsner I’ve had (where usually this style is brewed up far too sweet).

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear dark brown body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up chocolate malts, dark roasted malts, a hit of caramel malts and then an earthy sort of note. The taste is big and roasty and earthy with pleasing wet tobacco sort of earthy coffee notes, yes. Just as I come to grips with this maltiness a nice load of chocolate malts forces its way forward. I like it. Behind the malts lurks mild spicy to lightly resiny hoppiness.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear deep copper body that supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up nice nuttiness and roasted malts as well as a thin layer of sweet malts. The taste delivers pleasing roasted malts and nuttiness and a sliver of earthy wet tobacco that is hitting the spot right now. Behind the malts lurks faint spicy to earthy to pine hop bitterness. This comes together very well as each of the flavors creates a pleasing level of harmony. I will drink this again anytime.
