November 2008: 330ml Green bottle, made by ’proud German desendants’ to the ’1516 German beer purity law’ made from ’crystalline water from the mountains of Patagonia’. An old gold colour, not your normal bright and crystal clear but more of a malty hue. The aroma was malty and a lot better than most lagers I’ve had to smell. The taste was malty and fairly sweet in flavour, one of the better lagers I had in the lager tasting evening it was reviewed at. First beer I’ve had from Chile, not bad at all.

Bottle. Amber with an off-white head that settles to a coat. Low bead. Aroma of biscuit, caramel, light peaches and flowers. Sweet with caramel and fruit, cooked vegies intrude. Dry finish with distinct bitterness. Just in date, but clearly past its prime. Poorish now, but there’s enough to suggest it’d be fine if fresh.

Smells of honey and caramel. Taste of strong alcohol - a bit overdone. Caremlized malt aromas and a medium body with a little alcohol bitterness at the end. A decent beer but costs far more than its worth in Chile and Argentina where I saw it a lot. The other Kunstmanns are cheaper and almost as good. Picked up a bottle in the Santiago Airport flying back to Canada and I think the lady ripped me off two dollars to boot. Drank it on an airplane to NY wondering why they let me on with a glass bottle. The stewardess gave me a stern finger wagging when I gave her the empty 500 ml.

(Can 33 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Clear, pilsener golden with a dense, white head. Metallic aroma. Faitly light in body with unclean notes of brewing cereal and a little malt - also metal in the flavour. The finish is dry. Well... 080707
